Abstract:
ob<x>jective To analyze the effect of early oral feeding on the incidence and closure process of postoperative pancreatic fistula(POPF) after distal pancreatectomy (DP). Methods The clinical data of 189 patients diagnosed with pancreatic disease and undergone distal pancreatectomy in the department of general surgery, Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2019 were retrospectively analyzed.. According to postoperative nutrition methods, patients were divided into early oral feeding group (EOF group, 77 cases) and non-early oral feeding group (NEOF group, 112 cases), and the incidence of POPF in the two groups was compared. The extraction time of abdominal drainage tube, cumulative pancreatic fistula closure rate, abdominal drainage volume, amylase level of drainage fluid, postoperative complications and other clinical data of patients with pancreatic fistula in the two groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in the incidence of pancreatic fistula between the two groups (P>0.05). There were no significant differences in extubation time, cumulative closure rate of pancreatic fistula, abdominal drainage volume at 1, 3, 5, 7 days after operation, amylase levels in drainage fluid at 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 days after operation and postoperative complications between patients with pancreatic fistula in the two groups (P>0.05). However, the hospitalization time of pancreatic fistula patients in EOF group was shorter, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Early oral feeding after DP does not increase the incidence of POPF, does not increase the duration of POPF, and can reduce the postoperative hospital stay of patients with pancreatic fistula
