    Evaluation of the clinical efficacy of minocycline in different dosage forms in the treatment of chronic periodontitis

    • 摘要: 目的通过评价米诺环素不同剂型的临床疗效,为慢性牙周炎的合理用药提供依据。方法本实验筛选慢性牙周炎患者26例,患牙79颗,随机分为软膏组38颗和凝胶组41颗。对所有患牙进行牙周洁刮治疗,术后1周复诊,测菌斑指数(PLI)、龈沟出血指数(SBI)、牙周袋深度(PD)和附着丧失(AL)四项指标并设为基线,取米诺环素软膏或凝胶置于患者牙周袋内,分别与术后6周、12周复诊,测定四项指标。结果术后1周基线时软膏组和凝胶组四项指标差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。给药后PLI、SBI、PD值明显下降,软膏组明显优于凝胶组(P<0.05)。2组的AL值无明显变化(P>0.05)。结论米诺环素对慢性牙周炎的临床指数有明显改善,米诺环素软膏预后优于凝胶剂型。

       

      Abstract: ObjectiveTo evaluate clinical efficacy of minocycline in different dosage forms in the treatment of chronic periodontitis, so as to provide evidence for rational treatment of chronic periodontitis. MethodsA total of 26 chronic periodontitis patients with 79 diseased teeth were enrolled in the current study. They were randomly divided into an ointment group and a gel group. All patients first underwent scaling and root planning followed by administration of minocycline ointment or gel in the periodontal pocket. The clinical effects were assess based on plaque index (PLI), sulcus bleeding index (SBI), probing depth (PD) and attachment loss (AL) at baseline, and six and twelve weeks after surgery. ResultsThere was no statistically significant difference in the above baseline indexes between the ointment group and the gel group (P>0.05). After administration, remarkable decreases were found in PLI, SBI and PD in the ointment group, compared with those in the gel group (P<0.05). No statistical difference was found in AI between the both groups (P>0.05). ConclusionsAdministration with minocycline can markedly improve the clinical idexes of chronic periodontitis, where better prognosis is found after ointment use than gel use.
