Abstract:
Objective To analyze the clinical features and histopathological features of basal cell adenoma of the salivary gland, and to summarize its clinical features and pathological features in order to improve the understanding and diagnosis of basal cell adenoma of the salivary gland. Methods A total of 91 cases of basal cell adenomas with pathological findings and complete clinical data from 2009 to 2018 were collected. The clinical features and histopathological findings were analyzed, and the correlation between clinical features and histopathology was further analyzed. Results The age of patients was 21 ~81 years old, with a median age of 55 years, including 52 females and 39 males; 82 cases occurred in the parotid gland, 4 cases in the submandibular gland, 3 cases in the palate, 1 case in the pterygopalatine and 1 case in gingival site ; the majority of patients with clinical manifestations of painless, isolated, slowly increasing round or round-like mass, clear boundaries, 18 patients with local pain symptoms; pathological results showed 91 The tumor diameter of the patient is 0.8~7cm, and the tumor envelope is intact or inconspicuous. The tumor mainly consists of basal-like cells, which can be cystic, can invade adjacent adipose tissue, and can be malignant. Conclusion The basal cell adenoma of the salivary gland is a rare benign tumor with a wide age of patients. It is more common in female patients. It occurs in the parotid lobe, and the diameter of the tumor is small. It may be accompanied by pain and discomfort. It is easily confused with other tumors in clinical. The final diagnosis depends on the pathological results, surgical resection can get good results, and have good prognosis
