Abstract:
Objective: To observe the onset of action and long-acting of bronchodilator effect of two dose of indacaterol with tiotropium bromide in patients with stable moderate-to-severe COPD. Methods:125 patients with moderate and severe COPD stable period were randomly assigned into three groups, indacaterol 150μg n=42, indacaterol 300 μg n=41, and tiotropium bromide n=42 .The three groups were treated for 4 weeks. The spirometry was conducted at 30 minutes pre-medication and 5min, 30 min,1 hour, 4hour post-medication, 4 weeks after Treatment. Six minutes -walk test (6 MWT) and CAT index were compared between the three groups before and 4 weeks after treatment. Results:The forced expiratory volume in one second (FEVl) were significantly higher in the indacaterol 150, 300 μg arms than that of the tiotropium bromide arm, in 5min, 30 min post-medication(P<0.05). In 30 min post-medication FEVl was significantly higher in the indacaterol 300μg arm than that of the indacaterol 150μg arm(P<0.05).In 1 hour , 4 hour post-medication and 4 weeks after treatment FEVl was significantly higher in the indacaterol 300μg arm than that of the indacaterol 150μg arm and tiotropium bromide arm (P<0.05).By comparison with baseline,6 MWT and CAT index was significantly improved in the indacaterol 300μg arm than that of the indacaterol 150μg arm and tiotropium bromide arm 4 weeks after treatment (P<0.05).Conclusion: The results indicated that indacaterol 150 μg and 300 μg proved a faster onset of action than tiotropium bromide . The long effect dilated bronchiectas of indacaterol 300 are are better than those of indacaterol 150 μg and thiotropium bromide, indacaterol 150 μg equal to that of tiotropium arm.
