Abstract:
ob<x>jective To explore the therapeutic effect of Exendin-4 combined with anterior cervical disc decompression and fusion (ACDF) on the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Methods Patients admitted to our hospital for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy and operated on ACDF from February 2017 to December 2019 were selected. Among them, 50 patients were treated with ACDF alone (ACDF group) and 50 patients were treated with ACDF combined with Exendin-4 (ACDF+ Exendin-4 group).Visual analogue scale (VAS) score, Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA) score, the changes of cervical curvature and range of motion (ROM)of the operative segments and electromyography examination were used to compare the clinical outcomes of the two groups. Blood glucose was monitored. Results After 1 month and 3 months of treatment, VAS score, JOA score and electromyography of ACDF+ Exendin-4 group were significantly better than those of ACDF group, The difference was statistically significant ( P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in cervical curvature, ROM and blood glucose between the two groups ( P > 0.05). Conclusion The effect of ACDF combined with Exendin-4 in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy is superior to the traditional ACDF alone, and has no significant effect on blood glucose.
