Abstract:
ob<x>jective: To compare the effect of different retainers and ways on orthodontic patients after treatment, so as to provide basis for the prevention of recurrence. Methods: 60 patients with non extraction fixed orthodontic treatment from January 2019 to September 2019 were randomly divided into four groups, group A: Hawley retainer, group B: vacuum formed retainer, group C: fixed lingual retainer combined with Hawley retainer at night, and group D : fixed lingual retainer combined with vacuum formed retainer at night. PAR indexes before and after maintenance were measured on the model to evaluate the effect of maintenance. Results: There was no significant difference in PAR index among the four groups after wearing retainer for one year (P > 0.05).The total score of PAR index in group A and group C was increased after one year (P < 0.05).Conclusion: For non extraction orthodontic patients, vacuum formed retainer is recommended to maintain orthodontic treatment effect
