Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of xipayi sputum combined with periodontal therapy in the treatment of chronic periodontitis. Methods: 72 patients with chronic periodontitis were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, 36 cases. The experimental group was treated with Xipayigu sputum combined with periodontal basic therapy. The control group was treated with compound borax gargle combined with periodontal. Basic therapy treatment, comparison of plaque index, gingival index, gingival bleed index, periodontal pocket depth, gingival crevicular fluid volume and microbiology before and after treatment. Results: The PLI, SBI, GI, PD index and GCFV of the two groups were significantly decreased, the proportion of cocci was increased, and the proportion of bacilli and spirochetes was decreased. After the treatment, the periodontal index of the xipayi sputum and the GCFV in the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group. There was no statistically significant change in the proportion of cocci, bacilli, and spirochetes in the microbiological examinations of the two groups after treatment. Conclusion: Xipayi solid sputum combined with periodontal therapy has obvious inhibitory effects on chronic periodontitis, and has a better clinical effect on chronic periodontitis
