Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of Qianggu capsule on alveolar bone mineral density in osteoporotic patients with dentition defect or loss.
Methods A total of 46 osteoporosis patients with dentition defect or loss were randomly divided into observation group(Qianggu capsule treatment group) and control group(alendronate sodium tablet treatment group),23 patients in each group.Patients in both groups were examined by cone-beam CT before and 1 month,3 months and 6 months after treatment.The changes of alveolar bone mineral density were measured and observed by Anatomage invivo 5 software.
Results The bone mineral density of the cheek(lip) cortex of the alveolar bone in the control group was significantly higher than that in the treatment group at 1 month after the treatment(
P<0.05).The bone mineral density of the cheek(lip) cortex of the alveolar bone in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group at 3 months and 6 months after the treatment(
P<0.05).Bone mineral density of cortical bone and cancellous bone on cheek(lip) side of bone increased significantly at 6 months after drug treatment compared with that before treatment(
P<0.05).
Conclusions Qianggu capsule can significantly increase alveolar bone mineral density in patients with osteoporosis,which is conducive to the initial stability of implants.It can be considered for this kind of patients.
