Abstract:
Objective To investigate the chemical constituents extracted from fruits of
Swietenia marophylla with petroleum ether.
Methods Fruits of
Swietenia marophylla were cold-infused with ethanol followed by heated reflux. The resultant substances were extracted by petroleum ether. The chemical constituents within the petroleum ether extract were determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MC).
Results A total of 13 compounds were identified, including 10 long-chain aliphatic compounds and 3 aromatic compounds.
Conclusions This finding will provide evidence for the coming studies on the chemical composition and development research of fruits of
Swietenia marophylla.
