Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of oxygen-driven atomization inhalation combined with external phlegm and phlegm therapy on the curative effect, sputum volume and quality of life in patients with COPD at acute stage. Methods A total of 67 acute COPD patients admitted to our hospital from October 2015 to October 2016 were selected as the control group. Another oxygen-driven fog Sixty-seven patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who underwent combined inhalation and ex vivo vomiting and sputum management were selected as the observation group. The clinical efficacy, sputum volume and quality of life before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The clinical curative effect of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). The sputum volume of the observation group was higher than that of the control group on the 1st, 3rd, and 6th day after treatment. The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The scores of physical, psychological, independence, social relations, environment and spiritual support in the observation group after 2 weeks of nursing were higher than those in the control group, with significant difference (P <0.05). Conclusion Oxygen-driven atomization inhalation combined with external phlegm-extubation therapy in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can significantly improve clinical efficacy, promote sputum aspiration and improve quality of life, which deserved to be popularized and applied
