Abstract:
Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of MRI texture analysis in predicting the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with uterine cervix carcinoma. Methods: 25 uterine cervix carcinoma patients(stage IB2~IIA2 earlier)adopted MRI texture analysis and the neoadjuvant chemotherapy preoperatively were retrospectively analyzed between January,2014 and January,2018. The parameters of mean, entropy, skewness, kurtosis and inhomogeneity were obtained. The patients were divided into three groups: complete response(CR), partially response(DR) and deteriorative response (DR)according to the standard of solid tumor diagnosis by WHO. The parameters of MRI texture analysis were compared between the three groups using one-way ANOVA, and evaluated the predicting effect of the neoadjuvant chemotherapy in uterine cervix carcinoma. Results: There were 5 patients in CR group,17 patients in PR group and 3 patients in DR group. There were statistical differences in mean、entropy and inhomogeneity between the three groups (P<0.05). And the value of mean、entropy and inhomogeneity was higher in DR group than other two groups. However, there was no difference of statistics in skewness and kurtosis (P>0.05). Conclusion: MRI texture analysis may have the effect of predicting the prognosis of the neoadjuvant chemotherapy in uterine cervix carcinoma
