Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of quality control circle (QCC) management tool in reducing the rate of non-standard medical waste disposal in pediatric outpatient insfusion room. Methods A total of 280 cases of medical waste disposal in outpatient infusion room of Xuzhou Children's Hospital from January 15, 2018 to February 12, 2018 were set as the control group (without implementing QCC management), and 280 cases of medical waste disposal from June 1, 2018 to June 28, 2018 were set as the observation group (with implementing QCC management). The rate of non-standard disposal of medical waste in outpatient infusion room before and after QCC management was significantly compared. Results The rate of non-standard disposal of medical wastes in transfusion room at pediatric outpatients was significantly reduced from 23.57% to 5.00% (χ2=39.45,P<0.01) after implementing QCC management. Conclusions The implementation of QCC can reduce the rate of non-standard disposal of medical wastes and standardize medical waste management in pediatric outpatients transfusion room.
