Abstract
Objective To explore the changes of sB7-H3 and IFN-γ in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BACF) of children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP), so as to provide evidence for clinical diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of MPP. Methods A total of 35 children with severe MPP and 35 children with slight MPP were selected as an experiment group, while 15 children who underwent fiber broncoscopy were selected as acontrol group. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the levels of sB7-H3 and IFN-γ in BALF, and to compare the differences between the groups, as well as the correlation between sB7-H3 and IFN-γ level in acute phase BALF of MPP children. Results The severe MPP group produced remarkably higher levels of sB7-H3 and IFN-γ in BALF than those in the slight MPP group and the control group (P < 0.05). The slight MPP group produced remarkably higher levels of sB7-H3 and IFN-γ than the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). The correlation coefficient r of sB7-H3 and IFN-γ in acute BALF of the MPP group was 0.941 (P < 0.05), indicating that the level of IFN-γ in MPP was positively correlated with the expression of sB7-H3. Conclusions sB7-H3 may be involved in the pathogenesis of severe MPP by regulating the secretion of inflammatory factors such as IFN-γ.
