    Study on the chemical constituents in N-butanol extracts from Hypericum patulumThumb

    • Objective To investigate the chemical constituents in N-butanol extracts from Hypericum patulumThumb.. Methods The chemical constituents of N-butanol extracts were separated by the method of systematic solvent and column chromatography, and the structure of the resultant compounds was identified. Results Thirteen compounds were obtained and identified as 1-dotriacontanol (1), 5-O-cafffeoyl quinic acid butyl ester (2), 1-O-caffeoyl quinic acid methyl ester (3), shikimic acid (4), 5-O-coumaroyl quinic acid methyl ester (5), quercetin-3-O-(4''-methoxy)-α-L-rahmnopyranosyl (6), quercetin (7), quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnoside (8), doederleninic acid (9), methyl doederleninic acid (10), 5-O-caffeoyl quinic butyl acid ester (11), hyperoside (12) and rutin (13). Conclusions Compounds 1-6, 9, 10, 12, 13 are isolated for the first time from Hypericum patulum Thumb.
