    2 940 nm Erbium fractional laser combined with 595 nm pulsed dye laser and triamcinolone acetonide for the treatment of hyperplastic scars

    • Objective To investigate the clinical effectiveness of 2 940 nm erbium fractional laser combined with 595 nm pulsed dye laser and triamcinolone acetonide for the treatment of hyperplastic scars. Methods Patients with hyperplastic keloid scars who were admitted to Plastic and Reconstructive Center, the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from September 2017 to December 2019 were selected. They were treated with 2 940 nm erbium fractional laser combined with 595 nm pulsed dye laser and triamcinolone acetonide. Their data were retrospectively analyzed based on a self-controlled study. The Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) score was used to determine the effectiveness, while the overall rate of patient satisfaction was calculated. Results The VSS scores were (4.87±2.28) and (3.8±1.42) for 3 and 6 months after combined treatment, respectively, which were statistically different from those before treatment (P<0.05). The patients were followed up for 6 months after treatment, with an overall satisfaction rate of 87%. No severe adverse effects were reported. Conclusions 2 940 nm erbium fractional laser combined with the 595 nm pulsed dye laser and triamcinolone acetonide is effective for treatment of hyperplastic scar, with good patient satisfaction.
