Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of CD14+CD16+ mononuclear subsets in the peripheral blood of patients with multiple myeloma. Methods A total of 30 patients with multiple myeloma who were admitted to the People's Hospital of Binhai County for primary treatment from January 2018 to August 2019 were enrolled. Meanwhile, age-matched health subjects were enrolled as a control group. Both groups were compared for the proportion of CD14+CD16+ mononuclear subsets in the peripheral. After two cycles of treatment with zoledronic acid, the proportions of CD14+CD16+ mononuclear subsets in multiple myeloma patients before and after treatment were compared. Results The proportion of CD14+CD16+ monocyte subsets in the multiple myeloma group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.01).After treatment, the proportion of CD14+CD16+ monocyte subsets in the multiple myeloma group was significantly lower than that before treatment (P<0.01).Conclusions The proportion of CD14+CD16+ mononuclear subsets in the peripheral blood of patients with multiple myeloma increases, which may be associated with osteolytic lesions.
