Application of pulsed low-dose rate radiotherapy in the treatment of four cases with relapsed cancer and literature review

Objective To observe the short-term effectiveness and safety of pulsed low-dose rate radiotherapy (PLDR) in the treatment of patients with relapsed cancer and their tolerance to adverse reactions. Methods A total of four patients with relapsed cancer underwent PLDR radiotherapy for one to four months. According to the RECIST 1.0 standard, their short-term effectiveness and related adverse reactions were evaluated, and related literature was reviewed. Results All the four patients successfully finished the whole treatment, where 2 patients reached partial response (PR) and 1 patient reached complete response (CR). The patients manifested slight adverse reactions, with good tolerance. Conclusions PLDR radiotherapy is effective in the treatment of relapsed cancer, with slight adverse reactions.
