Research progress on renal targeted drug delivery

Kidney disease has become a global public health problem, which causes increases in morbidity and mortality around the world, and acts as an important risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Although many drugs have been developed for the treatment of kidney disease, the therapeutic indexes of these drugs are limited. The use of renal targeted drug delivery can not only reduce the extrarenal toxicity of the drug, but also greatly improve the efficacy of the drug on the kidneys, which is of profound significance in the treatment of renal disease. In this article, we reviewed the research progress on renal targeted drug delivery.
