Abstract
Glioma is one of the most common primary malignant tumors in the central nervous system, which has caused serious harm to people's quality of life and health. In recent years, great advances have been achieved in research concerning the pathogenesis of glioma. With deepened understanding of immunology, immunotherapy has become another new hot spot in the research of glioma. In this paper, we discussed the pathogenesis of glioma. According to the mechanism of action, immunotherapy was divided into three different types: therapies that block immunosuppressive factors, therapies that enhance immune and active factors, and immunological approaches to regulate tumorigenesis. Meanwhile, the specific application and research progress on various types of therapy were introduced. Finally, the current problems in various studies on glioma immunotherapy were listed, while some feasible solutions were proposed to provide more thoughts for related research.
