Abstract
Glioma is the most common primary malignant tumor of the central nervous system. Research on its pathogenesis and treatment is inseparable from experimental animal models that can simulate the pathogenesis of human gliomas. This paper reviews the development of glioma animal models, the methods for establishing the most widely used glioma transplantation animal models, and the progression on the detection methods of glioma animal models. These findings will provide good reference for suitable selection of glioma animal models and stimulate further studies on gliomas.
