Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of podoplanin(PDPN) in colorectal cancer tissues and its relationship with clinicopathological parameters and prognosis, using monoclonal antibody SZ168.Methods The difference of PDPN levels in colorectal cancer and adjacent tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. The expression of PDPN in colorectal cancer and prognosis were analyzed using TCGA database. Results Immunohistochemical detection showed high expression of PDPN in colorectal cancer tissues and low expression in adjacent tissues. Significant differences were found in lymphatic metastasis and distant tumor metastasis between the high and low expression of PDPN groups(P<0.05), but no difference was found in age, sex and T stage(P>0.05). Survival analysis showed no statistical difference in colon cancer patients with high and low expression of PDPN(P>0.05).Conclusions The monoclonal antibody SZ168 can be used to detect PDPN in colorectal cancer by immunohistochemistry, with a high positive rate. PDPN detection has certain value in the clinical diagnosis of colorectal cancer.
