Abstract
Objective To investigate the knowledge, attitude/belief and practice (KAP) of oral health among students in a college of Xuzhou, and explore and analyze the risk factors that affect the overall situation of KAP.Methods A survey was conducted using a self-designed questionnaire. The random cluster sampling method was used to select students from each department to participate in the survey. A total of 956 valid questionnaires were returned. Data were statistically described and analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression. Results Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that grade, father's highest education level, mother's highest education level, family annual income and participation in medical insurance had statistical differences in the overall situation of oral health KAP among college students (P<0.05). Furthermore, multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that grade, mother's highest education level, family annual income and participation in medical insurance were the risk factors affecting the overall situation of oral health KAP among college students. Conclusions A more systematic and accurate oral health education plan can be developed for students in the college, with respect to the risk factors of grade, mother's highest education level, family annual income and participation in medical insurance.
