Abstract
Kinase family member 20A (KIF20A) is a member of the kinase family, which is responsible for transporting chromosomes during mitosis and plays a key role in cell division. Current studies have demonstrated that KIF20A is overexpressed in a variety of tumors and therefore considered a highly promising therapeutic target for tumor therapy. High expression of KIF20A is closely associated with poor overall survival. In this study, we first outline the structure and function of KIF20A, followed by a comprehensive summary of KIF20A expression in tumors and its related mechanisms of tumor regulation. Finally, we present the results of clinical trials related to KIF20A in recent years. These findings are of great importance to improve the clinical diagnosis and treatment of tumors.
