Lysyl oxidase genetic polymorphism and the susceptibility to cervical squamous carcinoma

    • ObjectiveTo investigate the association of lysyl oxidase (LOX) G473A polymorphism and the susceptibility to cervical squamous carcinoma (CSC) in the Han ethnic population of Xuzhou. MethodsPCR and agarose electrophoresis combined with ethidium bromide staining were applied to determine the frequency of genotypes LOX G473A in 479 CSC patients and 525 healthy subjects, and analyze its relationship between genotyping frequency and CSC susceptibility. ResultsNo significant difference was found in any clinicopathological features. CSC Patients with genotypes GA and AA had remarkably increased susceptibility (P<0.05). ConclusionsLOX G374A is associated with CSC susceptibility, which is vital to predict CSC and illustrate pathogenesis in Xuzhou.
