Advances in the role of ET-1 axis in pain

Endothelin-1 （ET-1）axis is composed of endothelin-1 and its two different receptors，endothelin-A receptor（ETAR） and endothelin-B receptor （ETBR）。ET-1 is a potent vasoconstrictor and by binding to its receptors，participates in series of physiological and pathological processes，including modulating various pain conditions。In this review article ，we will introduce the mechanism and research advances about the role of ET-1 axis in acute pain，chronic inflammatory pain，chronic neuropathic pain and cancer pain。
